Write the answer before the distractors

Start from something you can verify.

  1. Choose one fact

Ask for a single place, person, object or result. Keep the prompt short enough to read comfortably.

  2. Verify the answer

Check a reliable source or confirm a personal memory with the people involved.

  3. Match the alternatives

Use choices from the same category with similar levels of detail. Avoid one long, precise answer surrounded by obvious jokes.

  4. Read without the key

Ask whether a non-expert has enough context to make a fair attempt, and whether any alternative could also fit.

An example based on a checked personal detail

Replace the place names with your own verified trip details.

Which city was the final stop on our three-city trip?
Correct answer: your actual final city. Alternatives: the other stops and one plausible nearby city. Name the trip or year so the question is unambiguous.

Use choices to welcome different knowledge levels

Playloop supports single-choice questions, as well as other formats. Use single choice when you want exactly one correct option; do not silently include multiple correct answers.

Private contributions make it easy for several friends to supply a question each. Ask everyone to check the alternatives as carefully as the correct answer. Begin with an accessible question that teaches the answering flow before increasing the difficulty.

Bring a question. Or just yourself.
