Build a small Christmas programme
Choose a clear stopping point so the quiz does not compete with dinner, presents or visitors.
Before the day
Ask contributors for one festive fact and one question about a tradition they are happy to share. Give a deadline before the gathering.
At the table
Explain how to join, then begin with a familiar seasonal topic. Read the prompt aloud if anyone is sharing a small screen.
After the reveal
Let the author explain a tradition or memory. Pause for food, and finish the game before starting another activity.
Three festive prompts to adapt
These need your own answers; they are prompts for your gathering, not a prewritten Christmas question pack.
- Which dish did we try making together last December?
- Check with the cook and use the actual dish, with other dishes as alternatives.
- In which town was this winter photograph taken?
- Use a photo you can share and confirm its location before adding it.
- Which festive film should we watch next?
- Use an unscored poll. A preference is not a trivia fact.
Keep contributions a surprise
In Playloop, guests add their questions during preparation without exposing them to the other players. The host can join the game too. Agree on the own-question scoring setting before starting.
Include people who do not celebrate Christmas in the same way: winter food, films and places can sit alongside optional family traditions. Keep a non-personal question available for anyone who would rather skip a memory.
