Choose stories they’re happy to share
Check before using a personal story or photo. Skip anything the birthday person would rather keep private. Friends can always contribute ordinary trivia about a film, band, or hobby instead.
Include questions newer friends can answer
A whole round of school stories can leave newer friends guessing. Mix in topics that don’t depend on having known someone for years.
- Favorite films: ask about a character or a scene.
- Music: use songs or albums they often play.
- Trips: ask where something happened, then tell the story after the answer.
- Birthday year: choose a few facts from that year and check them before playing.
Give each scored question a definite answer
“Which city did we miss our train in?” works if you know the answer. Add three believable alternatives, and explain what happened after the reveal.
Questions such as “Who is the funniest?” ask for an opinion. Use an unscored poll for those. Playloop supports polls alongside scored questions.
Send the invitation before the party.
Send the game link ahead of time and give a deadline for adding questions. Remind contributors to keep their answers to themselves. Try a short game with a couple of friends before the party.
