Choose how the music reaches the group

Do not assume that sound on your laptop is reaching everyone else.

  1. Text-only trivia

Ask about a named album, instrument or artist using your own wording. No recording is required.

  2. A clip in the room

Play material you can use through a separate audio setup. Keep volume comfortable and check audibility from different seats.

  3. A clip over a call

Test the call’s audio-sharing controls with another person. Agree when playback finishes and when answering starts.

Remove ambiguity from music answers

Songs often have multiple recordings, titles and credited performers.

  • Name the version or release year if covers could change the answer.
  • Decide whether the question asks for the performer, writer, title or instrument.
  • Check credits against an official artist, label or release source.
  • Use your own clues instead of reproducing long lyrics.

Use Playloop for the quiz, separate tools for playback

Create the questions and collect answers in Playloop. Do not assume built-in audio uploads, licensed clips or synchronised playback; any recording playback described here is a separate hosting activity.

For a mixed group, include different eras and non-audio questions. Someone may know instruments or album artwork better than a recent chart. Give a useful clue and explain the answer after the reveal, then let the group talk about the music.
