Choose what belongs in the year

Write the year into the invitation and into any question where the date changes the answer.

  1. Gather moments

Ask each person for one public event and one shared memory. They can offer two public facts if they prefer.

  2. Check dates

Distinguish an announcement from a release or an event from its broadcast. Save a source with the answer in your preparation notes.

  3. Keep predictions separate

Use polls for next-year plans. Do not score an opinion or a future event as if the answer were already known.

A year-in-review question starter

These examples become playable when you fill in your own details.

Which month did we take our seaside trip this year?
Confirm the month with the trip organiser or a dated photo.
Which of these films did our group watch together first?
Choose films your group actually watched and check the order against your messages or calendar.
What should we try together next year?
Offer realistic activities as poll choices, with room to discuss another suggestion afterward.

Finish with something the group can look forward to

In Playloop, keep scored questions and unscored polls clearly labelled. Guests can contribute privately, which makes the year feel less like one organiser’s recap.

Recheck public facts near the event, especially records, rankings and awards. A dated question is easier to settle than “Who is currently the best?” End with a future-plan poll, then leave enough time to put the devices away.

Bring a question. Or just yourself.
