Objects that crop well
Photograph things from your own home or the venue, so you hold the image and the answer is certain.
- Fruit and vegetables with a distinctive skin, such as a kiwi or a pineapple.
- Kitchen tools with a familiar edge or pattern, such as a grater or a whisk.
- Textures from the room: a radiator, a keyboard, a woollen jumper.
- Something every guest has seen today, such as the host’s front door.
Crop in three passes
Save each version so you can step back if the first is too hard.
Take a sharp photo
Use good light and fill the frame with the object. A blurry original only gets worse when cropped.
Crop to a quarter
Keep one distinctive feature: a texture, a pattern or a part of the outline.
Check on a phone
Show it to someone who has not seen the original. Adjust until they hesitate but can get there.
Build the round
Single choice with four everyday objects keeps the round quick and avoids arguments about spelling. A typed answer makes it harder, but decide in advance whether “grater” and “cheese grater” both count.
In Playloop, add the cropped image to the question and give it a slightly longer timer than a text question, as players tend to study the picture. For the reveal, describe the full object so the room can see what they missed.
