Before the day

Confirm the plan while guests can still prepare.

  • Send the date, time zone, expected finish, call link and game invitation.
  • Check the intended player count and question allowance.
  • Tell contributors their deadline and keep answers out of the group chat.
  • Ask who will use a single phone so you can test that arrangement.

During a two-person rehearsal

Use someone on a different device or connection when possible.

  • Join as a guest and confirm the visible player name.
  • Read a text question and inspect a picture question at the intended size.
  • Submit an answer and confirm the result is visible.
  • If sharing media, confirm what the other person hears rather than trusting local playback.
  • Try pausing and returning to the game using the same browser.

At the start of the live game

A few minutes of setup are part of the event.

  1. Check the room

Confirm everyone is in the game before starting. Keep the joining instructions easy to find.

  2. Explain the rules

Describe scoring, author contributions and unscored polls. Run an accessible opener.

  3. Agree a pause signal

Use a short message or spoken request when someone cannot read or submit. Resolve the issue before advancing where possible.

Keep a simple fallback

Playloop supplies the browser game; your call supplies conversation. If the shared screen fails, check whether players can continue comfortably in their own browsers. If the call fails, pause and reconnect through the group’s usual channel.

Finish at the agreed time, even if setup took longer than planned. Save an extra round for another evening rather than rushing the final questions.

Bring a question. Or just yourself.

Start a game and invite your group to add their questions.
